On August 8th 2019 we lost the most amazing, selfless & courageous person in our lives - our lovely Richard, our Rich, or Ricky as I call him.  He was so highly thought of as a GP, where he practiced for 30 years in Middleton, caring & helping 100s of patients with such devotion - I know he would have been so amazed & no doubt surprised at the hundreds of tributes he received from his patients when they learnt of his passing.

I can just imagine him now pacing up and down trying to put the world to rights with regard to the Covid situation !!!

Ricky was so humble & understated - he had the kindest of natures & apparently never gave one moment of trouble in all his years to his mum & dad, Cynthia & Barry, whom he absolutely treasured & loved! He was a loving brother to David & the highlight of his week was when they got together on Saturday morning for a catch up - in fact friends & family meant everything to Richard especially his kids Oli, George, Katie & Zak, he was so very very proud of them all - he truly couldn’t do enough for them & he thrived & loved the times that we all spent together as a family laughing, having banter & long discussions, sometimes heated around the kitchen table…..

He changed my life & taught me so much - even though on many occasions when he was trying so desperately hard to educate me it went completely over my head!! Ricky.... thank you for choosing me to be your wife & for making my life complete.

I told him many times before he passed away that I would love him forever & that he will always be in my heart and that I promise. He truly was & is my everything.

Love love

Making A Difference

I told Richard before he passed away that I was going to try and make a difference with regard to Oesophageal Cancer - he looked at me & started to smile in a cheeky way & said ‘good luck with that one!!’ - well who would have thought..... we’re definitely on the way to doing just that!!

Richard has left a massive hole in so many people’s lives including family, his friends & patients.
